Celebrated Iowa-born metal act Slipknot is scheduled to perform in Des Moines this summer for the first time since January 2009.

The show, scheduled for August 5, is part of a 20th anniversary celebration for Des Moines-based rock radio station Lazer 103.3. The event is set to take place at Wells Fargo Arena.

Heavy music staple Marilyn Manson and modern metal act Of Mice & Men are also scheduled to perform. Marilyn Manson was trending online this weekend after the artist announced his role in the tour.

"20 years is a pretty big deal," said Lazer 103.3 brand manager Ryan Patrick. "To celebrate, we’ve called the guys who've been asked for the most. We’re excited to have (Slipknot)."

The show with Manson and Of Mice & Men is part of a full U.S. tour that was announced earlier this year. Other Midwest dates on the tour include stops in St. Louis, Chicago and Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The Des Moines show is the last scheduled on the tour.
