Singham actor Ravindra Berde passed away after a long battle with throat cancer

Marathi actor Ravindra Berde passed away on Wednesday morning at the age of 78 after a prolonged battle with throat cancer. He had been undergoing treatment at Tata Hospital for several months and was discharged two days before his demise. Ravindra suffered a fatal heart attack at his Mumbai residence, marking the end of his long-standing struggle with illness.

Berde was known for his roles in significant films like Anil Kapoor's Nayak: The Real Hero (2001) and Rohit Shetty's Singham, where he portrayed the character of Zamindar Chandrakant. He shared a successful on-screen partnership with his late brother, actor Laxmikant Berde, delivering numerous hit movies together.

Despite health setbacks, including a heart attack during a play in 1995 and a cancer diagnosis in 2011, Ravindra Berde remained undeterred in his passion for acting, continuing to entertain audiences. He commenced his career in theatre in 1965 before transitioning to television and films. Over his illustrious career, he appeared in more than 300 Marathi films, sharing the screen with esteemed actors such as Ashok Saraf, Vijay Chavan, Mahesh Kothare, Viju Khote, Sudhir Joshi, and Bharat Jadhav. Survived by his wife, two children, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren, Ravindra Berde's demise has prompted an outpouring of grief from his fans on social media, who have extended heartfelt condolences to his family.
