Honda CB500X is the company’s contender in the middleweight ADV segment. The bike goes up against the likes of Benelli TRK 502 and Kawasaki Versys 650. It comes to India via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route and costs Rs 6.87 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it a little more expensive than other bikes in the segment. This adventure tourer is being sold through Honda’s BigWing retail channel across the country. Honda is offering the CB500X in two colour options – Grand Prix Red and Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic. This is a smart-looking ADV with LED headlamps, tail lamps and indicators. There is a large windscreen above the headlamp and the fairing looks decent. The overall design of the bikes has been inspired by the Africa Twin and that is apparent when the two ADVs are standing side-by-side. Powering the Honda CB500X is a 471cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that develops 47hp of power and 43Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a six-speed transmission with a slip and assist clutch. In typical ADV fashion, the CB500X gets a long-travel suspension at the front along with a 19-inch wheel. The rear wheel sports a smaller diameter of 17 inches.
