A comprehensive questionnaire was prepared and the interviews were taken by the volunteers of Istari Sehat Sabhas (Women Health Groups) - a village level NGO. The book gives an in-depth insight into the psyche of women who had undergone female foeticide. It brings out how the thinking and perception of all these women is different from the rest.

Important and thorough study of why women get sex-selective abortions in India, and the circumstances surrounding these abortions. The study was well-conducted and the findings add a lot to knowledge of this topic.

I am taking a star off because whoever did the translation really did a bad job- the book was riddled with grammar errors that sometimes made it difficult to understand.
