Dhyanalinga: The Silent Revolution

Rate this book
In The Silent Revolution, master, mystic and yogi Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev introduces a spiritual tool for humanity so powerful that it defies the boundaries of the human mind. This extraordinary book guides readers to an understanding of yoga as energy states beyond the five senses, culminating in the presentation of Dhyanalinga, an embodiment of primordial, formless, divine energy. This unique meditation shrine is the first of its kind to grace the Earth in over 2,000 years and is the pinnacle of three lifetimes of intense spiritual work by one of the most profound mystics of modern times. Sadhguru's limitless love and energy permeate this book, which captures Dhyanalinga on print through vivid color photographs depicting its architectural magnificence. In the metaphysical sense, Dhyanalinga is the manifestation of a Guru, an energy center of tremendous proportions and a space where the transformation from limited to resplendent unbounded can happen in an instant. This book helps spiritual seekers recognize the role of a Guru in raising one's inner energies to the peak of self-realization. Sadhguru explains, "A Guru works in his presence and out of his presence, not through words. That which you refer to as Guru is a certain energy, a certain space, not a person. The relationship is neither physical, psychological nor emotional, it is beyond body and mind. It is a sacred, enduring relationship essential for any person evolving himself to his ultimate nature." Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is a channel between man and the divine who offers humanity an opportunity and possibility to transcend the body and mind and experience the boundless divine bliss within. Dhyanalinga invites us to explore a new kind of spiritual practice that can transform us at our core. This richly illustrated book combines historical perspective with sacred wisdom and the master's provocative poetry as a roadmap to other dimensions of reality.

A science like this gives you absolute mastery over life itself. The whole process of the Dhyanalinga is just to manifest this science in such a way that it cannot ever be taken away; to manifest it also in such a way that it's accessible at anytime to everyone who is willing. Not only to create your life the way you want it, but to be able to decide the very process of life, death and rebirth. Even to the extent of deciding the womb in which you are going to be born, and ultimately, being able to dissolve at will.

Today, modern science tells you beyond any doubt that the whole existence is just energy manifesting itself in so many different ways. The only thing is that it is in different levels of manifestation. What you call creation is the same energy, from the grossest to the subtlest. As you make it more subtle, beyond a certain level of subtleness, you call it Divine. Below a certain level of grossness, you call it an animal. Further below that, you call it inanimate. It is all the same energy. The whole creation is just a paint smear for me, and if you look at it, it's the same for you. What you call the Dhyanalinga is the result of taking energies to subtler and subtler levels.

"You have known the pleasure and the convenience of modern science; so why the Dhyanalinga? It is because I want you to know the power, the liberation of another kind of science, the inner science, the yogic science through which you can become the master of your own destiny. That is why the Dhyanalinga."

A nice little book describing the Dhyanalinga at the Isha Yoga Center. The Dhyanalinga is housed in a non-religious temple designed in such a way that even a person who has never known meditation can sit inside and easily become meditative. The book also has some nice photos of the Dhyanalinga and temple.

A quick read with beautiful pictures of the Dhyanalinga situated at the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains. It is the largest mercury based live linga in the world, and the first of its kind to completed in over 2000 years.

For those who are unfamiliar with Isha Foundation, this book will be difficult to understand. I would suggest starting off with a lighter more "logical" read such as "Inner Engineering: A Yogi's Guide to Joy".

Even if one does not meditate, in order to witness yogic science, I would recommend skimming this book prior making a visit to the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, India. My first visit to the ashram was as a child at a time when I knew nothing about yoga. Just by sitting in silence for a few minutes within the Dome can take you into an deep state of meditativeness.

Traditionally only available to a select few, the Dhyanalinga offers a tremendous opportunity for a sadhaka.
