Ever since it released 13 years ago, so many of us have watched Jab We Met a countless number of times, and yet, every single time – even if you start watching it from a random scene – the movie leaves you feeling happy and fulfilled. Along with the iconic Geet and Aditya pairing, portrayed perfectly by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, the movie also gave us the hilarious “Ganne ke khet” saga with Geet’s ex-lover Anshuman. That one scene captured his entire personality and role in the movie. While the option of bingeing Jab We Met today still stands strong, we have a few other movies on Netflix and more that have a similar feel.

1. 2 States – Disney+ Hotstar
2 States is a romance drama featuring a girl and boy from different parts of India. While they find love, while studying together at a university in Ahmedabad, their North and South Indian parents are against their relationship. The movie charts the struggles their relationship witnesses and how they eventually come together with their distinctive cultures. Starring Alia Bhatt and Arjun Kapoor, the movie will remind of the innocent love featured in Jab We Met, in phases.
2. Love Aaj Kal – YouTube
The original film, and not the remake, captures the essence of love that makes one go to unimaginable lengths. Featuring a fresh pairing of Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone from 2009, the film was also directed by Imtiaz Ali. The character development as the movie progresses will remind you of Jab We Met. Charting stories from two different eras and then intertwining the innocence of their love, the movie is deeply emotional and defined relationship for a whole generation.
3. Cocktail – Youtube
Another movie starring Deepika Padukone and Saif Ali Khan, this one is a love triangle also introducing Diana Penty. The closing sequence of this movie, when Meera (Penty) expresses her love to Gautam (Saif) has a very similar feel to Geet kissing Aditya in Jab We Met. Overall the carefree personality of Deepika’s character and her emotional set back also resembles that of Geet’s.
4. Tamasha – Netflix
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha has to be on the list of movies similar to Jab We Met. Both Tara (Deepika Padukone) and Ved (Ranbir Kapoor) meet randomly – similar to Geet and Aditya – the two love each other’s company but then decide to never meet. This again is similar to Geet/Aditya who part ways in the middle of the movie. But, eventually, the two get together and express their love for each other.
5. Life in a Metro – Netflix
Just like Geet and Aditya who had no clu that they were going to end up together, the different characters in Life In A Metro also do not know they are destined to end up together and meet at unfavourable moments and times in their lives too. The romance drama, even though not exactly similar to Jab We Met, will remind you of the film at various stages.
6. Salaam Namaste – Amazon Prime Video
Brought to you by Sidharth Anand, Salaam Namaste starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta, charts the life of two people who start living together and eventually fall in love. Amber (Zinta) and Nikhil (Saif) despise each other in the beginning but then as they spend more time together, their emotions take a turn. It would be safe to say, in the opening sequences of Jab We Met, Geet and Aditya weren’t particularly fond of each other either.
