Jab We Met is turning 11-years-old and we feel like an oldie already! Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met was one of its kind romantic-comedy that won hearts. Soon after its release, we made it enter the list of cult classics. Right from Geet’s dialogues to Aditya’s simplicity, it was all magical. For all the kind of phases both the protagonists, Geet and Aditya passed through in the movie, it was so relatable for us! As this iconic movie turns 11 this year, let’s take a look back at the things this beautiful movie Jab We Met made us learn.

You Will Find Love

Heartbreaks are a part of life. That phase is unbearable but things get in place soon after. Geet’s love Anushuman broke her heart when she left back everything for him. But the catch here was that she ended up finding her true love. The ‘forever’ kind of love. A heartbreak makes it look like everything has fallen apart. But losing hope or losing faith over love is never a good thing. Your true love will come and when you get it, you will forget all the heartbreaks that happened in the past.

Never Kill The Inner Child In You

One of the best lessons Jab We Met gave us was that one should never kill the inner child in them, just like Geet. Geet was a bubbly character who enjoyed every moment of her life. She did what her inner child said, at times it looked stupid but we saw how much happiness it gave to her. Just like that there are times in life when we get busy with our own things and forget to live every moment. This is when you need to bring out your inner child and do little things that gave you joy as a child!

Trust Your Instinct

You should trust your instinct. That feeling when you feel something is right or wrong, listen to it, it may take you to the right destination! Geet always listened to her instinct. Remember when she says, “Aisa lag raha tha jaise kuch galat ho raha ho, jaise koi train chhoot rahi ho”? That moment when Aditya was leaving her with Anshuman and she ran after him. Trusting your instinct can give you happiness!

Be Forgiving

There are people who can hurt you in your lifetime. It can be your close ones too. You may be extremely hurt but that doesn’t mean you can’t forgive them. Aditya too was extremely hurt when his mother left him and his father for another man. But later he realised that not always people are at fault and they are free to do things that make them happy. Later in the movie, he forgives his mother.

Your Family Always Stands In Support

You may commit tons of mistakes through your life but your family will never ever leave your side. They love you unconditionally and will always be there for you. Geet ran after Anshuman and didn’t return home for nine long months. Still, her family was worried about her and kept looking for her all those months without losing hope. When they finally found her, they welcomed her with a lot of love and warmth. That is family!
