Rally racing superstar Subaru unveils its new SUV VIZIV-7 Concept

Subaru has always been a car brand that has found fan boys in the most extreme car enthusiasts owing to their tough cars which ooze usable performance. Subaru cars feature a tough 4-wheel drive system and quite often make their way to rally racing as well. Considering this fact it is difficult to believe that they don’t have a single SUV in their portfolio.

The makers have finally come out with the VIZIV-7 Concept which will seat 7 in comfort and conquer rough roads as well. It has been made by Subaru as an embodiment of their vision for their future cars and will be made along the lines of “enjoyment and peace of mind” factors which the company preaches to provide its customers.

The car has massive proportions in terms of size as it is longer than even the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour at a length of 5,200 mm, 2030 in width and 1860 mm of height. An equally massive wheelbase of 2,990 mm is featured inside the cabin and will be the largest production vehicle from the Subaru stable.

The VIZIV sports massive 21 inch wheels with 265/55 tyres. The overall body structure looks dominating and some bits have been shaped out of sheet metal. The design philosophy is DYNAMIC x SOLID and according to the corporate executive vice president of Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, Mr Takeshi Tachimori, “The concept expresses our core brand values, safety, dependability, capability for outdoor activities and a forward looking attitude,”

The concept will be making its way to the North American markets by 2018 and will add to the line up that consists of crossovers like the Forester and Outback. Takeshi Tachimori also said that “We know customers in this segment want a full-sized vehicle and the next 3-row from Subaru will be the biggest Subaru vehicle ever.”
