World's-largest-bird-sculpture

Those of us familiar with Ramayana (or indeed the TV show adaptation of the great epic) are most likely aware of the mythical bird, Jatayu, who dies attempting to save Sita from the clutches of Ravana. Jatayu, who plays a small but prominent role in the epic, has now earned a well-deserved spot of his own in Kerala. The spot where Jatayu is believed to have fallen after his mid-air battle with Ravana is now being converted into a nature park. The Jatayu Nature Park that is located on the road to Jadayupara in the Chadayamangalam village in Kerala is estimated to cost Kerala’s exchequer a cool 100 crore rupees. The Jatayu Nature Park is being touted as a one-of-its-kind park that is spread across 65 acres and will have several recreational facilities for tourists including a 6D (yes you read that one right) theater and a state-of-the-art cable car. So what makes the Jatayu Nature Park so unique?
