Harley-Davidson Blue Edition, The World’s Most Expensive Motorcycle Priced at Rs 12 Crore

Every motorcycle lover has a dream of getting a Harley Davidson bike at least once in a lifetime. That’s because, for decades, Harley Davidson motorcycles have created a niche for themselves. There is a huge fan following of Harley bikes among the Indian biking enthusiasts. But, the only problem is the high price tag. Harley Davidson motorcycles have interesting examples with great prices across the world. However, the price tag has recently become outrightly exorbitant with the unveiling of Harley-Davidson Blue Edition. The bike seems to have crossed all boundaries of exclusivity and hence, it is not outrightly for sale and there is only one in the world.

Priced at US$ 1.8 million (Rs 12.8 Crore), This Blue Edition is a Softail Slim S which Swiss custom motorcycle builder Bündnerbike has built and turned into Harley-Davidson Bucherer Blue Edition along with jewelry brand Bucherer. This exclusive gold and diamond-plated motorcycle has shattered the previously held record of the most expensive bike title that was held by 1951 Vincent Black Thunder priced at $ 929,000 (Rs 6.3 crores) that sold this year at the Bonhams auction in Las Vegas.

The creation of the Harley-Davidson Blue Edition took 2500 hours – from design to production – in a span of a year to complete the project. The astronomical price of the extravagant motorcycle is because it comes with 360 diamonds, gold-plated screws, gold-plated throttle valves, two safes that are integrated into the tank and contain a one-of-a-kind watch from Carl F. Bucherer as well as rings from Bucherer Fine Jewellery.

The Harley-Davidson Blue Edition has a transparent camshaft cover that allows us to take a look at the moving engine parts. The more interesting part is that the whole setup is illuminated by heat resistant LEDs. Therefore, this makes the Harley Davidson Blue Edition the only motorcycle in the world to have such illuminated engine section.
