Satellite and the benefits derived from space technology are going to play a major role in Indians future, says Padma Shri Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai. He was giving a key note speech in Kuwait at the prestigious Arab Fund Organization building in Shuwaikh as part of the 51st Engineer's day organized by Institution of Engineers India Kuwait Chapter.
The lesson we learned from Chandrayaan helped us in our Mangalyaan project, the lesson we learned in Mangalyaan is now helping us to go forward, he said. While talking about the Challenges and Opportunities in India's space mission, Dr Annadurai said that our moon mission and Mangalyaan were not fantasy to go to moon or go to mars, but to harness that for the nation development.
Padma Shri Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai is a distinguished Space scientist worked with the Indian Space Research Organization and served as Director, ISRO Satellite Centre, India. Annadurai was listed among 100 Global thinkers of 2014 and topped the innovators list.
Our moon mission in 2008 was to get a decisive answer to the question on presence of water in the moon, he said. Dr Annadurai explained various challenges ISRO faced in its Moon mission. He also congratulated the Indian Engineers in Kuwait to organize such a function for the benefit of the engineering community.
The 51st Engineers day was attended by a galaxy of personalities including Dr Osamah Alsayegh- Director of Science & Technology Energy & Building Research Center KISR, Engineer Ahmad Al-Mershed - Undersecretary MSNA, Indian Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Sri Raj Gopal Singh, Dr Manaf Behbehani - Kuwait University, and several other dignitaries.
Dr M Mahendran, Chairman of IEI Kuwait Chapter welcomed the audience and Engr Hirak Mitra proposed vote of thanks.
