The forthcoming pan-Indian biography of actress Shakeela, featuring Richa Chadha as the eponymous heroine, is set to enter theatres on December 25, and actress Shakeela, along with members of the cast and crew, attended a press conference to promote the film.

Shakeela stated at the ceremony, ” “She doesn’t want to hear about me. But she is pleased that my biography was filmed while she is still alive.”

She thanked the film’s director, Indrajith Lankesh, and Rajeev, who she described as “one of the most significant figures in my life,” and she also praised actress Esther, who appears in the film. “You will only realize what Esther has accomplished if you watch the video,” she remarked.

Thanking the media for not publishing anything negative about her, the actress remarked, “Everyone has their share of difficulties in their life, but she is not going to dwell on that — contrary to what the other speakers here have discussed.” She will not beg for sympathy or respect. She has never felt that she has not been treated with respect. She is unconcerned about people who gossip about me behind my back. And none of them has dared to confront me. She wanted to tell future performers and students not to make the same errors she did and get duped. That is what she had written in my book as well.”

The actress went on to say that the filmmakers took creative license in narrating her narrative as cinema and fictionalized it a little. “The picture carries a message that is especially relevant to women. She has viewed the picture and is pleased that the message is conveyed in it.”
