Client Spotlight: Mother/Daughter Session with Laura and Grace

Mother/ daughter sessions are some of my favorite sessions because it becomes all about creating the time and space for them to connect and celebrate each other. The pictures become the memory of that special day and are cherished for the rest of time. Because let’s face it, getting your hair and makeup done and playing dress up is the ultimate girls day out and who better to share it with than your mom or daughter!

Laura contacted me back in December about doing a mother/ daughter shoot to make her daughter feel extra special and beautiful and to celebrate the woman she had become in her 50s.

Feeling seen is something we all deeply desire. Creating the space for others to feel that, to feel beautiful, and then capturing it and showing it back to you, is my gift and one of the greatest gifts I can give another person especially a mom and a daughter.

Well, we didn’t get to it until June. After being quarantined for 3 months, it was time to get out of the house and feel special; to feel anything really. I mean just one moment of feeling normal feels good these days!

It turns out that Grace is a rising Senior so we combined a few things for this session: Senior portraits, Personal Branding and Glamour for Mom and Mother/ daughter portraits. Oftentimes people will do this, combine several types of shoots into one. While you're getting professional photos why not do something for work, something sexy and something fun and casual. Celebrate all the facets of who you are, celebrate your life. Capture the person you are and let that tell your story for the rest of time.

We took the time to really focus on Grace and I love the red dress images below. That was her prom dress that she never got to wear to prom this year because of Covid.

Give me two beautiful women in front of my camera with a special bond and I’m having the best day of my life! Check out these beautiful souls. All accomplished while wearing a mask and social distancing while mirror posing. Grace was such a natural!
