Author of the book "The Pashtuns - A Contested History" Tilak Devasher, in his exclusive essay for #NatStrat writes: "The obligation to take revenge, or badal, is perhaps the most critical part of Pashtunwali. Every #Pashtun knows that transgressions against another's honour will lead to revenge against the transgressor and it is in his interest not to provoke badal." #PashtunCulture #PashtunHeritage #PashtunHistory #PashtunTraditions Read the full article at https://lnkd.in/dEBza2us Read the full article below

New Book: How long did the Moors rule the world? The Moors never ruled Europe as a whole. They did control parts of the Iberian Peninsula (modern day Spain and Portugal) from 711 until 1492 when the last Moorish kingdom was conquered by Christian Spaniards. The Moors also controlled some or all of the island of Sicily (off the coast of Italy) from 827 to 1091. Chapter 1: History of the Moors Who are the descendants of the Moors? Descendants of the Moors who stayed in Spain were known as Moriscos. Early in the 1600s the Spanish drove the Moriscos out of Spain because of their political and religious beliefs. Most of them moved to northern Africa. Chapter 2: How Powerful Were The Moors? The Moors were so feared because of their excellent fighting ability and the fact that they had captured large amounts of land in Europe and could well have continued on to conquer the rest of it. With them came their own religious beliefs , as Muslims and that was not the case in most of Europe which was Christian.Mar 30, 2021

Civilized man takes great pride in the character, stability, and continuity of his established institutions, but all human institutions are merely the accumulated mores of the past as they have been conserved by taboos and dignified by religion. Such legacies become traditions, and such traditions generally metamorphose into convention. The Urantia Book

When traditions & cultural performances have layers, and each layer echoes a story of caste, community & traditional hierarchies, do we consume only the performance, or do we step back and understand the context of the performance. I loved this article and the echo of a protest via a traditional performance. Did Jesus Call Us to Disciple Nations? "Ekklesia" is a Greek term that traditionally refers to an assembly or gathering of citizens in ancient Athens, where they would discuss and vote on matters of the city-state's governance. City-state GOVERNANCE. In English, it's often translated as "assembly" or "gathering." While it has political connotations due to its historical context, it can also refer to gatherings in other contexts, including religious ones. We chose to translate the word “ekklesia” from the original New Testament copies as “church.” Why do you believe The Great Commission does not ask us to disciple people? “Go therefore and make disciples of all the NATIONS, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:19-20 NKJV *** What if The Great Commission resulted in welfare being replaced by Godfare? “…teaching them to observe (do) all things that I have commanded you…” Read Matthew 25:31-46 and imagine the possibilities.
