This one picture says a lot. He's the PM of the UK. She is the PM of Bangladesh. They are attending a Global Summit with other leaders that represent 80% of Global GDP. How you treat people and respect elders is engrained early! Ultimately it's all about culture and upbringing 🙏🏾 Rishi Sunak Narendra Modi

Respecting elders is a shared value in many cultures.

I just noticed that Narendra Modi's name is in the post. Is that because he exemplifies this type of culture/upbringing, or are you telling him that he should? When I think of the 'dear leader', the image that I comes to mind is that he and his supporters want to project for him, is that of a muscular - chappan inch ka seena, unbending, shove to the front of the line leader. A leader that makes everyone else bow down to him, even LK Advani. A leader who is unaccountable: no press conferences, no question hour in the parliament, no comments on #manipur2023, #gujarat2002 or any other oppression.

Well, he is pushing many laws to keep many elders in high water by blocking the refugees. I wonder what happens to the culture there, does it become Kulcha? Let's not hyperventilate based on his Indian connection. It proves nothing in particular about India or Indians. It is just a personal choice.

Unfortunately, this picture is not as naive as it looks. PM of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina is not a democratically elected PM. She has been in power for the last 15 years by severe ballot manipulation. The list of crimes against her is very long! She uses one of the elite forces RAB to punish opposition voices. This whole organization RAB and it's chief is currently under the US sanction list. Just this week she jailed the chief of a humanitarian activist Mr, Adilur Rahman under a draconian "digital security" law. US, EU, and AUS the larger democratic world condemned this arrest. Her ruling party men use this picture to glorify her and display in the media that she is well respected by the UK PM. UK is well aware of the situation of Bangladesh and the activity of the PM of that country. We did not see any comment from the UK PM about this picture. But I do not believe his intention was to glorify a terrible dictator. Hope you understand. 🙂

I agree. As I said all of us are good people at birth. Some of us fall sick. So no one is bad. Some need help. So we can settle differences by dialog and not violence. Freedom has limits. We sacrifice some for common good.

Some people might argue that a head of state should not kneel before another head of state.

Thanks Ramamurthy "Siva" Sivakumar for bringing out this subtle but very impactful aspect of culture that we take for granted. We are truly blessed!
