London Gatwick: Airport for everyone

London Gatwick: Airport for everyone

We just published our full financial results for 2023.

I'm proud to say that we served 40.9 million passengers last year, up 24.7% on 2022.  This helped us drive revenue up over 30% and EBITDA up over 38%.

But 2023 wasn’t just about metrics and numbers.  It was also the year we stepped back and relaunched our brand.  An important part of that process saw us thinking hard about a new vision that captures the essence of what we do and aim to be.

It wasn’t easy distilling so much into just a few words.  But, after careful thought, we settled on being ‘The airport for everyone, whatever your journey’

At its heart, this new vision expresses our ongoing focus to offer passengers relevant choices.  Choice of airline, destination, or airfare to suit different their needs.  Mix of shops, restaurants and bars to enjoy, or range of travel options to get to and from the airport.

What do we offer?

We’re still recovering from the pandemic, but the choice we once again offer passengers has driven our strong financial performance.

Our passengers can now choose from 56 airlines flying to 220 destinations. That includes 126 flights to North America each week, 85 to Asia and 34 to Africa, excluding North Africa.

We have 116 shops, restaurants and bars on site to enjoy.

Our new Electric Forecourt – the first of its kind for a European airport - has 30 chargers for those arriving by EV.  And our redeveloped train station – which has just doubled in size - whisks passengers away on trains that now leave the airport every four to five minutes.

This choice is no accident.  We reinvest our profits in new facilities and services and plan to spend over £2 billion more on airport improvements over the next five years.

Only by continuing to offer passengers strong, relevant choices, can we be the airport for everyone.

Great results due to tremendous effort from the team I am sure, and nice to hear funds allocated for the continued development of this wonderful airport where I started my journey into aviation almost 30 years ago.
