Optical illusions can be great ways to train your brain and keep it active and the latest one is no different at all.

Many of us love the mind-bending illustrations as they can trick our brains into seeing the world from a fresh point of view - but the most recent one has people saying when they completed the task that it 'makes the whole world look different'.

There have been some mesmerising brain teasers over the years from the infamous dress which nobody could determine the true colour of - to brain teasers like the cat hidden in amongst the houses.

But this particular illusion is for all of those out there who are fans of hallucinations.

In a clip shared to YouTube by Jace, the brief instructions read: "This is an optical illusion. Stare closely at the red point."

As the video begins, the black background turns into a monotone grid with black and white lines moving towards the frame in all directions.

And in the centre of all of this is a little red point which is what you should be fixated on and an outline of a circle around the middle of the picture.

If you keep a keen focus on this tiny red point then the graphics should separate and appear to move in different directions entirely.

The lines within the grids inside the circle appear to be moving faster than the ones outside and it can start to appear pretty wavy to the eye,

After two minutes, Jace says: "Now look away!"

Viewers who managed to watch the clip till the end were blown away when they did just that as everything around you starts to look very different.

Many agreed that the visuals in the optical illusion succeeded in 'making the real world look different'.

One shared: "When I looked around me, the world was melting!"

"This illusion is by far my favourite I have ever seen! That mental work is just insane..." a second wrote.

A third added: "I actually tried my first time and wavy things started to appear in the corner or side of my eye, but I tried not to blink which is impossible so that's my goal!"

"Hands down this is the best one. I've searched high and low. You get serious visuals from this one," a fourth penned.
