Coffee Canopy Birds

The Golden-winged Warbler, Rufous-capped Warbler, Turquoise Motmot, and Resplendent Quetzal are migratory birds that winter in Central American coffee growing regions such as Nicaragua and Ecuador. They can be found foraging insects in the canopy trees of forests and shade-grown coffee farms. Deforestation for agriculture, including sun-grown coffee plantations, threatens their habitat.
