V Ravichandran is a famed actor in the Kannada industry. He is known for redefining the Kannada film industry with the movie Premaloka, which was released in 1987. The multi-hyphenated celebrity has never starred in or made a woman-oriented movie. Now, he is all set to do so. V Ravichandran has been roped in to star in a female-centric movie titled Tapassi. V Ravichandran will be playing an important role in the movie. He recently joined the team on the sets of the movie. V Ravichandran agreed to star in it upon much insistence by the film’s director, Spencer Matthew, who is also the scriptwriter of Tapassi. Spencer Matthew has previously made the movie Sweet Poison, starring Girish Karnad. Tapassi is reportedly based on a true story and will star Ammayra Goswami, who will be marking her debut in the Kannada film industry. Previously, she has worked in Malayalam and Marathi films.
Ravichandran will be reportedly portraying the role of a professor in Tapassi. In an interview, while talking about Tapassi, he revealed that the shoot of the movie is almost complete. He said, “The team has almost completed shooting, and they have been waiting to wrap the film with my portions.” He further added that Spencer Matthew is his close friend, whom he has known since the time Ravichandran-directed Ravi Bopanna. According to him, the director did not mind waiting for him to be a part of the film. He also confirmed that the movie is indeed a “female-centric” one and his role conveys a social message. Reportedly, his character will add weightage and he believes he was cast in the movie because he can do justice to the movie.
Tapassi movie will also star Vinay Prasad, Prajwal, Sachin, Anusha and various other artists.
Spencer Matthew is also bankrolling the movie under the banner Bangalore Movies with executive producer Gangaadhar.
V Ravichandran is also gearing up for his highly anticipated movie, Premaloka 2. The director will be kickstarting the shoot for Premaloka 2 on his birthday, May 30. Apart from donning the director’s hat for the movie, he will also be headlining the movie with his sons, Manoranjan and Vikram.
