Mumbai: Maharashtra Navnirnam Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray and his bitter rival cousin and Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray were seen together at a family function in Mumbai on Friday. It is worth mentioning here that Raj Thackeray walked out of Balasaheb Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in 2005 and formed MNS a year later. However, Raj and Uddhav, who have been treating each other as rivals in Maharashtra’s politics, are seen rarely at family functions.

Raj, Uddhav criticise each other over Dharavi redevelopment project

Recently, both Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray lashed out at each other over the Dharavi redevelopment project. Questioning Uddhav Thackeray and his party about the Dharavi redevelopment project, Raj had threatened to hold a massive protest in Maharashtra. Hitting back at Raj, Uddhav later said he could not figure out whether his brother was an agent of industrialist Gautam Adani.

Posters urging Uddhav, Raj Thackeray to join hands in Maharashtra

Earlier this year, posters urging the Thackeray brothers to reunite were installed in Mumbai amid the frequent realignments in state politics. The posters installed by an MNS leader read, “Politics of Maharashtra has become muddy. Rajsaheb-Uddhavsaheb come together now. Entire Maharashtra is waiting for you”.
