The funeral service for British socialite Peaches Geldof was held Monday at the church she was married in just two years prior.
A hearse carrying Geldof’s coffin arrived at the St. Mary Magdalene and St. Lawrence Church Monday afternoon in Kent, England. The sky blue casket appeared to be decorated with drawings of Geldof’s family — showing her husband, Thomas Cohen, and the couple’s two sons and family dogs.
Geldof’s father, former Boomtown Rats musician Bob Geldof, gave a eulogy at the private service Monday, according to BBC News. Her younger sister Pixie Geldof was also expected to pay tribute.
The somber event drew several of the Geldof family’s celebrity friends — including supermodel Kate Moss, Rolling Stones musician Bill Wyman, and the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson.
The 25-year-old British TV personality was found dead at her home in Kent April 7. Police labeled it a “non-suspicious, unexplained sudden death.” Results of a toxicology test and possible inquest into the cause of death are expected in the coming weeks, after an initial autopsy proved inconclusive.
The blond beauty’s ashes will reportedly be spread in the garden at her father’s country estate next door to the church, where she grew up.
Geldof’s mother, Paula Yates, married Bob Geldof at the same church in 1986. The family also held Yates’ funeral there when she died in 2000.
