Television actor and classical dancer Shalu Menon recently entered into wedlock with TV-serial actor Saji Nair at a ceremony held at Guruvayoor temple.
It was 11 years of friendship that blossomed into love for the two, but the stars say it was an arranged marriage.
“We knew each other for quite a long time. It wasn't really a love marriage for we never had any kind of feelings for each other apart from being co-stars. Our families were the ones to come up with such a proposal.
''We first acted together in a film Thukuvilak which was not released. Later, we worked together in a serial and moved on with our own lives. While Shalu was busy with her dance programs, I focused on serials,'' said Saji.
Recalling their first meeting, Saji says, ''I am quite a reserved person and told Shalu about my habits and character. When the proposal came, I felt Shalu was the only one for me.''
Shalu had this to say about Saji: ''My father passed away at a young age and there were just three women in my house. I wanted someone who could understand my situation and my family."
