Biography: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an Indian actress known for her performances in both Hindi and Tamil cinema. After winning the Miss World 1994 pageant, she transitioned into an acting career and has since become a cultural icon in India. Her accomplishments have garnered her prestigious recognitions, including the Padma Shri from the Indian government in 2009 and the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government in 2012.

Born to a Tulu-speaking Bunt Hindu family, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father was an army biologist, and her mother, a homemaker. She was academically successful and briefly considered careers in medicine and architecture before choosing to pursue modeling.

Her win in an international supermodel contest and a notable Pepsi commercial appearance alongside Aamir Khan and Mahima Chaudhry catapulted her into the spotlight. After finishing as the runner-up in the Miss India pageant, she went on to win the Miss World 1994 title.

In her personal life, Rai Bachchan married fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan in 2007, and they have a daughter.
