Kabir Suman getting better despite lung and heart complications

Eminent musician, composer, and writer Kabir Suman, who was admitted to the Medical College hospital recently, has been recovering. The hospital reports said that his condition improved and his dependence on oxygen also reduced. He did not need oxygen support for the entire day. However, he still has complications in his lungs and heart. 

According to the doctors, the symptoms are not that visible now. He can sit now and sometimes walk also. It is not yet clear when he can be discharged. But there are risks of infection while in hospital and hence the doctors are thinking about how the singer can be sent back home. According to them, it will depend on Kabir Suman’s health condition. A medical board will decide on how his health is.

Kabir Suman was admitted to the Medical College on January 29 with a chest infection and was kept on oxygen support. He has heart problems also. He had breathing difficulties. Doctors from medicine and cardiology departments are treating him.

Kabir Suman, now 75, is a singer and an activist. He is currently working on Bengali Khayal. He once came to politics also and became an MP from Jadavpur as a TMC candidate. There was a time when he grew distant from the TMC, but it got mended later. He did not contest in subsequent elections. He identifies himself as a supporter of the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee. He was not keeping well recently due to age-related complications. The sudden illness made his fans anxious. But the news of his recovery relieved them.
