Hino’s India plans gather momentum
The company is looking at expanding its product portfolio.
Toyota’s CV arm Hino Motors is pulling out all stops to reinvigorate its presence in India. It may be recalled that the Japanese company had first entered the Indian market in 2009 with its 500 series trucks. The 25 tonne GVW 6x2 multi axle vehicle (MAV) and the 25 tonne GVW 6x4 tipper had got off to a promising start, before a speed bump was encountered. The tsunami in Japan and floods in Thailand disrupted Hino’s global plans including those in India. It must be noted that the trucks are being imported into India from Hino’s global facilities.
