1Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal, JayaramThuppakki is a 2012 Indian Tamil action film written and directed by AR Murugadoss. It features Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles, Vidyut Jamwal as main antagonist, as well as Jayaram and Sathyan in supporting roles. The film, produced by S. The film is a remake of Telugu blockbuster Okkadu, that starred Mahesh Babu, Bhoomika Chawla, and Prakash Raj in the lead roles. Ghilli stars Vijay, with Trisha Krishnan and Prakash Raj playing the female lead and antagonist, respectively. The soundtrack and background score of the film were composed by Vidyasagar. The film released on Tamil New Year day on 14 April 2004; opened to highly positive reviews and emerged the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time, surpassed later by Chandramukhi. Ghilli has grown a strong cult following over the years. It was dubbed in Hindi as Keertimaan.
3Vijay, Asin, Prakash RajPokkiri is a 2007 Tamil gangster-thriller film directed by Prabhu Deva. The film stars Vijay and Asin with Prakash Raj, Nassar, Vadivelu, Sriman and Napoleon playing supporting roles. Mumaith Khan and Prabhu Deva make guest appearances. Nirav Shah handled cinematography while Kola Bhaskar was the film's editor. The film was launched in 12 January 2007. Filming took place in India and Australia. It was a remake of Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots, which itself was adapted from the novel Five Point Someone – What not to do at IIT! by Chetan Bhagat. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Ileana D'Cruz, Sathyan and Sathyaraj. The plot of the film illustrates the embankment of two friends on a quest for a lost buddy, who was once an optimistic and successful student. On their journey, they recount their college life and special moments that the three shared up until their lost friend secretly parted ways after convocation. During their quest, the two encounter a rival classmate who once made a long forgotten bet with them, a funeral that goes impossibly out of control, and a wedding they must crash. The film's soundtrack and background score were composed by Harris Jayaraj and cinematography was handled by Manoj Paramahamsa. The film was produced by Gemini Film Circuit, who had purchased the remake rights of 3 Idiots in early 2010. A lengthy and controversial delay in casting delayed filming by a year.
