When I read anniversary and India in title, I thought they were celebrating some sort of "colossual failure anniversary", that they were in India.

Re: Harley-Davidson launches its 2023 range along with Anniversary editions in India

The ghost of Harley Davidson still looms large over our country. They quit India purely due to commercial reasons saying doing business here was unviable.

The true blue HD fans who bought these bikes formed clubs, enjoyed outings to the countryside from their cities but were soon left in the lurch, post exit of the American bike maker.

Next HD had second thoughts and they developed an understanding with HeroMotoCorp to market and service their bikes.

India was an extremely promising market for HD had it diligently conducted itself by marketing their bikes and biking gear very well with due market intelligence.

The proxy presence of HD with HeroMotoCorp is not time-tested and customers have tasted the American bike maker's bitter medicine once, when they suddenly quit.
