Suzuki Motorcycle India factory hit by cyberattack

The factory was reportedly shut down on May 10, resulting in a production loss of over 20,000 units.

Production at the Suzuki Motorcycle India plant was affected earlier this month following a cyberattack. The factory was reportedly shut down on May 10, which resulted in a production loss of over 20,000 vehicles.

According to a company spokesperson, the incident has been reported to the concerned Government authorities and investigations are ongoing into the matter.

Suzuki Motorcycle India did not provide an exact date for the resumption of production though, which means, production losses are likely to rise even further.

Currently, Suzuki builds a range of scooters and motorcycles at its India plant. This includes the Access 125, Burgman Street 125 and Avenis 125 and motorcycles like the Gixxer 155, Gixxer 250 and V-Strom 250 SX. The bikemaker also assembles the Hayabusa superbike in India.
