Emma Watson is getting real about her childhood crush on her Harry Potter costar Tom Felton, and it's extremely adorable.
Emma opened up about when she "fell in love" with Tom during the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts special, saying that it was a drawing Tom did of a skateboarding girl that kicked off her crush; the young stars were asked to draw a picture of what they believed God looked like, and Tom's drawing caught Emma's eye. “I just don’t know how to say it, I just fell in love with him,” Emma shared. This led to her keeping a close eye on who was on set during filming. “I used to come in every day and look for his number on the call sheet. It was number 7. And if his number was on the call sheet, it was an extra exciting day.” According to Emma, she was able to be "vulnerable" with Tom in a special way.
The two shared that they've never been involved romantically, despite many rumors. (Remember the guitar lessons?) Earlier this year, Tom said of his relationship with Emma, “We are something, if that makes any sense. We've been very close for a long time. I adore her. I think she's fantastic. Hopefully she returns the compliment.”
During the reunion, Tom clarified his feelings for his costar and friend. "Emma and I have always loved each other," he said of their status. "I became very protective over her [as kids] ... I've always had a soft spot for her, and that continues to this day."
If you were hoping for a Draco and Hermione love story IRL, you may be disappointed to find out that the two are just good friends. "Nothing has ever ever ever ever happened romantically with us," Emma added. "We just love each other. That's all I can say about that."
