Saoirse Ronan and Beanie Feldstein Had a Lady Bird Reunion

Beanie Feldstein and Saoirse Ronan played high school BFFs in 2017's critically acclaimed Lady Bird, and the two actors became very good friends when the cameras weren't rolling too. Now, both Beanie and Saoirse have secured their places in the Hollywood scene, with Beanie killing it in movies like Booksmart and the forthcoming season of American Crime Story, where she'll play Monica Lewinsky, and Saoirse starring in Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig's much-anticipated Little Women adaptation. While we love seeing the two crush it onscreen, we missed seeing them together as pals, which is why our hearts grew about four sizes when Beanie posted the cutest pic of herself, Saoirse, and Beanie's Booksmart costar Kaitlyn Dever.

"The moment my heart exploded!!!!!" Beanie wrote of the pic. Saoirse is in the middle, wearing a gingham dress, and Beanie, in sequins, embraces her, as does Kaitlyn. The group was snapped at the Governors Awards on Sunday, October 27; the ceremony is a pre-Oscars movie-industry awards ceremony that honors four movie-industry vets. Kaitlyn also posted a few pics from the night, including one of the group with Dakota Johnson and another of Beanie and Saoirse in the bathroom looking much more glam than their Lady Bird characters, Julie and Christine, but just as close.

Beanie and Saoirse's friendship began right away when filming the movie. At the time, Beanie told the Cut that she will "never forget" the first time they met. “Sersh was wearing these brightly colored pants, and she was just like ‘BEAN!!!’ and she leapt into my arms. I just instantly knew it was going to be amazing. It gives me the chills,” she recounted. “You can’t fake stuff like that. You either have an instant chemistry with someone or you don’t.”

Their friendship also extended to their working relationship in Lady Bird. “I personally have been lucky to work with so many great people, but Saoirse was the most incredible scene partner. You go to your best when you’re surrounded by the best people," Beanie told the Irish Times. “Oh my God, we’re such close friends. She’s the greatest."

Clearly, it's about time for Saoirse and Beanie to reunite onscreen. I mean, look at how adorable they are in those photos! Greta Gerwig, are you listening? Maybe it's time to write a sequel to Lady Bird to give us a hint at what Lady Bird and Julie are up to in their 20s. Just an idea…
