Jumbo block on Churchgate-Mumbai Central route today; local train services to be hit

The work will be taken on Up and Down Slow lines between the stations

The Mumbai local train services between the Churchgate-Mumbai Central route will be disrupted for five hours on Sunday due to maintenance work being undertaken on the section.

"For maintenance work of tracks, signalling & overhead equipment, a Jumbo block of five hours will be taken on UP & DOWN Slow lines between Churchgate and Mumbai Central (local) stations from 1035 hrs to 1535 hrs on Sunday, 2nd July," said Western Railway in a statement. 

The work will be taken on UP and Down Slow lines between the two local stations, the statement added.

The Down Slow services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) between 10:14 am and 3:15 pm will be diverted on Down Fast line between Mulund and Matunga stations. The trains will arrive at the station 15 minutes behind schedule after halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund. It will be further re-diverted on Down Slow line at Mulund station. 

With regard to the Up Slow services, trains will leave Thane between 10:58 am to 3:59 pm and will be diverted to Up Fast line at Mulund station - halting at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion. They will be re-diverted on up slow line at Matunga station. 

All train services on the transharbour line and the urban line will be running smoothly.  "The suburban train services between Belapur/ Nerul and Kharkopar will run as per schedule during the block period. Transharbour line services will be available between Thane-Vashi/Nerul stations during the block period. Special suburban trains will run on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Mumbai – Vashi section during the block period," the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Central, Western Railway had to cancel a few local trains due to heavy rainfall. They include  DN93005, DN93008, DN93007,DN93010,DN93011, DN93013,DN93014 and DN93016.
