Beautiful plain Prabai brass diya. Also called as 7 Mugam Kuthu vilakku this traditional brass lamp is used to decorate homes, temples and madap.
These cup of the lamps are large and can hold enough oil(usually ghee) to keep the wick burning for several hours. Quality brass diyas are very durable and will likely last for ever.

History : The name "Kuthu vilakku" was derived from the fact that these lamps were originally spiked into the soil. However now days the have a beautiful base to stand. Made of brass these diyas are passed from one generation to the next.
