Suzuki Motorcycle India has reached the 1 million production milestone in the financial year 2023-24. The millionth two-wheeler produced by the brand in this financial year is the Access 125. The vehicle was rolled out from the SMIPL Kherki Dhaula plant in Gurugram. With this, the brand has completely utilised the annual production capacity of the brand within a year.
SMIPL disclosed in June 2023 that the production of its 5 millionth Access 125 scooter has been achieved, which represents a journey of 16 years to reach the 5 million production milestone. The Kherki Dhaula plant, where the recent 1 millionth vehicle produced in the current FY was manufactured, also produced the 5 millionth unit.
Expressing his gratitude for reaching this momentous milestone, Rajneesh Kumar Mehta, Executive Vice President of production, at Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Achieving the production of one million units in less than a year is a remarkable accomplishment for Suzuki Motorcycle India."
He added, "In order to keep up with the consistently increasing demand for Suzuki Two-Wheelers both from the domestic market and our overseas markets, we have gone beyond our original installed capacity of 1 million units per year. Our workmen and engineers have demonstrated a very high level of ingenuity and commitment while operating the plant at its peak capacity and simultaneously taking steps to enhance delivered capacity.”
The brand's motorcycle lineup in India includes V-Strom SX, Gixxer SF 250, Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF, and Gixxer.
