Congratulations are in order for Renault India, folks! The French automaker is celebrating a huge milestone in the country: Renault shared it has now sold more than 8 lakh cars in India. The company started operations here a decade ago and has, since, then managed to make quite a place for itself in the domestic automotive market. At the moment, Renault India has a total of four cars in its portfolio, namely, Renault Kiger, Renault Kwid, Renault Triber, and Renault Duster. 

Venkatram Mamillapalle, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations said, "We are extremely delighted to have crossed the 8 Lakh sales milestone in India. This has been a phenomenal journey and I would like to thank all our customers, dealers, suppliers, employees, manufacturing & engineering teams for their immense support and belief in the brand. Over the last few years, we have established a strong foundation in India. Together with a strong product strategy, Renault has been continuously undertaking strategic measures across all key business dimensions to offer a seamless brand ownership experience to its customers. All these have scripted Renault’s growth story in India."

The company explained its strong foundation, supported by a robust product strategy and an array of customer-focused initiatives, have played a key role in enabling the achievement of the sales milestone of 800,000 customers in India. Renault further added 2021 proved to be a successful year for the company despite the challenges posed by the pandemic as well as the global supply chain issues. The automaker noted that India's contribution to the Renault's global sales have made our country one of its top five global markets.
