Yamaha BS 6 bikes and scooters in India get a price hike 

The impending BS 6 deadline has meant a lot of updates and changes in the Indian automotive ecosystem. And it's not just about the introduction of models compliant with the new emission norms, but price hikes as well. And the latest news in this regard comes from the house of Yamaha Motor India -- besides announcing that it has completed the transition to BS 6, the two-wheeler manufacturer also shared a list of revised prices of its scooters and bikes in India. It must be noted that even though the Yamaha FZ 25 BS 6 has already been unveiled in the country, it won't become available for retail till April 2020.

Yamaha kicked off its transition to BS 6 last year with the launch of the the new Yamaha FZ-FI and FZS-FI in November 2019. This was then followed by the launch of the BS 6 models of the Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 3.0  and the MT-15 in December. Yamaha also brought in the BS VI-compliant iterations of the Fascino 125 FI, Ray ZR 125 FI, and Street Rally 125 FI in December 2019. Finally, the company then took the covers off the BS 6 FZ-25 and the all new FZS-25 last month. However, as mentioned above, the BS 6 FZ-25 will go on sale in India in April 2020. And as for the all new Yamaha FZS-25 -- this range will be launched here later this year.

This transition, of course, comes at a cost; long story short, ahead of the deadline for the new emission norms to come into effect in India, Yamaha has decided to hike the prices of all its offerings here.
