'Karisma Said Raj Kapoor Pulled Women By Hair In Real Life', Claims Raja Hindustani Director. Kapoor Clan Actor Calls It 'Bogus'

Dharmesh Darshan, desperate for a comeback, recently quoted his Raja Hindustani heroine Karisma Kapoor as saying that her illustrious grandfather, Raj Kapoor used to pull women by their hair. Whether he did it for fun or spite, he didn't say.

Perhaps Dharmesh should check his facts before comparing himself to Raj Kapoor by insinuating that a scene featuring Aamir Khan pulling Karisma's hair in Raja Hindustani qualified him to that level of greatness.

An actor from the Kapoor clan says the whole hair-raising anecdote sounds bogus. "Did Lolo (Karisma Kapoor's nickname) really say this to Dharmesh Darshan? Lolo was just a small child when he (Raj Kapoor) passed away. Whose hair did Lolo see him pull? And, in what context was this hair-pulling done? The Great Showman is no more a part of the living earth. Why is he being pulled out for reference in such a politically incorrect context? If Dharmesh is trying to compare himself to Raj Kapoor, then what to say? It is crass and totally uncalled for," says the insider.

For those who came in late, in a recent interview with Lehre TV, director Dharmesh Darshan made shocking claims about an incident involving Karisma Kapoor and Aamir Khan, from the sets of his film, Raja Hindustani.

In the interview, Dharmesh Darshan said that during the shoot of the super-steamy number Tere Ishq Mein Naachenge, Aamir's character, completely sloshed, was scripted to yank Karisma's hair. Aamir, the gentleman that he is, decided to play it safe, suggesting a tamer move by tugging her arm instead. But here's where it gets particularly interesting. Dharmesh Darshan goes on to add that tt was none other than Karisma Kapoor who suggested the hair-pulling stunt. Because Karisma allegedly revealed that her own granddad, the legendary Raj Kapoor, was no stranger to these daring antics, not in his films, but in real life.

Dharmesh said, "She took me aside, asked for it to be done that way, and mentioned, 'I've seen my grandfather do it sometimes, not in his films, but in real life.' When she shared this with me, I went to Aamir and said, 'Let’s keep it simple. Just pull her hair directly."

Dharmesh Darshan's claims have not gone down well with the Kapoor clan actor we spoke to. In the meantime, we would like to have Karisma's clarification on this. Did she really say this about her grandfather? Or is she being ghost-quoted?
