The 96th Academy Awards event took place on Monday in the USA. At the Oscars, Barbie actor Ryan Gosling paid a special tribute to legendary actress Marilyn Monroe's iconic Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend video. Gosling, dressed in a custom pink suit by Gucci, took us back to Monroe's famous hot pink dress from the 1953 film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Ryan performed I'm Just Ken in a pink suit at the Oscars. Gosling's stylist, Mark Avery, shared a photo of the actor as well as Monroe on Instagram, drawing comparisons to Monroe's legendary performance. In Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, Monroe wowed audiences in a hot pink dress designed by William Billy Travilla, accompanied by male background dancers in black suits with pink accents, bowties. Gosling's homage included dancers in black-and-white suits with pink details like ribbons, bowties, socks, and cowboy hats reading Made especially for Ken.
Gosling shared the stage with Scott Evans, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben Adir, Ncuti Gatwa, and Mark Ronson. The lively performance featured large cartoon Barbie heads and ended with guitarists Slash and Wolfgang Van Halen joining Gosling on stage. After the performance, Gosling received a warm applause, including from his Barbie co-star America Ferrera and director Greta Gerwig, who sang along to the iconic number.
The 96th Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, were broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on March 10. Talking about Barbie, singer Billie Eiliish bagged the Best Song Oscar for her song, What Was I Made For.
