Monica Lewinsky to give National Geographic a TV interview

Monica Lewinsky is getting ready to talk on TV again.

The former White House intern will chat with the National Geographic Channel for a three-part miniseries on the 1990s.  The 90s: The Last Great Decade? will debut on July 6 and will be narrated by actor Rob Lowe.

Lewinsky seemingly came out of nowhere when she wrote a first-person essay about her affair with former President Bill Clinton for the June issue of Vanity Fair. In the magazine piece, Lewinsky said she wanted to "burn the beret and bury the blue dress" -- a reference to two fashion items that infamously became tied to her.

It had been a good 10 years since we last heard from Lewinsky when excerpts of the Vanity Fair essay landed in reporters' inboxes last month. Lewinsky hasn't a TV interview to a U.S.-based outlet since 2003 when she spoke to Jimmy Kimmel and the ladies from ABC's The View, according to Capital New York, which first reported the Lewinsky interview on Tuesday.

Lewinsky is among the 120 miniseries participants who will be giving "new, original interviews" about their "unanticipated brushes with fame," National Geographic Channel said in a statement.
