Former actress Twinkle Khanna, known for her wit and humor, has addressed long-standing rumors linking her to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim's parties. In her latest column for The Times of India, Khanna dismisses these reports as "media fabrications," shedding light on the prevalence of manipulated news stories in today's media landscape.

Twinkle Khanna's Response To Decade-Old Controversy

Speaking on 'manipulated news stories,' Khanna said, "We have already witnessed a spate of manipulated news stories, from the morphed pictures that showed the Phogats smiling during the wrestler’s protests, to uncountable stories about the origin of the coronavirus."

Khanna humorously quips about her alleged dancing skills, suggesting that Dawood would have opted for more skilled performers if the reports were true.

She writes, "I have even seen my name on a mainstream television channel ticker saying I had performed a medley of songs for Dawood. Considering that even my children think my dancing skills are akin to watching a WWF match between a lone wrestler and gravity, the news channels should have known that Dawood would have chosen more skilled performers. But such is the world of fake news."

This isn't the first time Khanna has addressed these allegations. Back in 2010, her husband, actor Akshay Kumar, vehemently denied the rumors, stating, "I got no idea from where all these stories come from. If these stories were true, my house would have been raided."

    Twinkle Khanna's Career Journey

Khanna, who bid adieu to the silver screen after a successful stint in films, including a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for Barsaat (1995), has since carved a niche for herself as an acclaimed author. Her literary journey began in 2015 with her debut non-fiction book, Mrs Funnybones, followed by The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad (2016), Pyjamas Are Forgiving (2018), and her latest release, Welcome to Paradise (2023).

In her column, Khanna also touches upon the broader issue of fake news, citing examples like manipulated images and sensationalized stories. Her candid response serves as a reminder of the challenges posed by misinformation in today's digital age.
