Champakulam Church is noted for one of the oldest churches in Kerala, Champakulam St. Mary’s Church, also known as Valiya Palli. It is believed that, the church was one of the seven churches established by St. Thomas. This is a Syrian Christian Church in historic old Portuguese building. Arthunkal is another major Christian pilgrim centre in Alappuzha district of Kerala.
